The 2016 Innovation Showcase will be during iBIO IndEx on April 19, it is an afternoon where fundable companies connect with corporate partners and attendees connect with the entrepreneurial energy of the science-based technologies being commercialized from across Illinois. Come and meet hundreds of corporate partners, VC and angel investors, business executives and entrepreneurs!
One of the main features of the Innnovation showcase will be the 8th annual PROPEL Business Plan Competition. The PROPEL Business Plan competition will highlight the many formation-stage and early-stage life sciences companies across Illinois. Applicants for this highly selective entrepreneurial competition will compete for a $15,000 cash award to the winner plus $2,500 for second place.
PROPEL is looking forward to our 8th annual competition, where the winner will receive $15,000 plus $2,500 for second place. Said Barbara Goodman, Senior Vice President of PROPEL, By holding the finals at the Innovation Showcase during Day 1 of iBIO IndEx on April 19, we expect that our startups will capitalize on even greater participation from and connections to our strong corporate partners.
Competitors will be judged on how clearly and concisely the company articulates the technology and business opportunity. To determine the finalists, Illinois life sciences community members will assess all applications. At the Competition Finals on April 19, 2016 at the Innovation Showcase during iBIO IndEx, finalists will be judged by financial investors on a short presentation (plus a limited time for Q&A). The winner will be announced that day.
